The main scope of Geoloc is to propose geolocation solutions for IoT systems covering both indoor and outdoor with a precision on the order of 5-50m and very low power consumption. This system targets connected objects (IoT) by making it possible to reduce the size of their battery and / or extend its lifespan (up to 10 years for certain applications).
The project aims in particular to:
- Combine information from different standards supported by an object (LoRa, LTE-M) but also (BLE, Wifi, GPS), as well as from different sensors (barometer, accelerometer) to improve the accuracy of geolocation (fusion of given) while controlling consumption,
- As a complement to the first objective, improve existing techniques, for example LTE OTDOA (Observed Time Difference Of Arrival),
- Use geolocation information to improve MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO) techniques from a 5G perspective,
- Minimize the overall power consumption of the IoT infrastructure and terminal.
